MAYSVILLE — Mrs. Jewell Ruth Strode, age 94, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. Jewell moved to Tennessee 40 years ago with her husband after he retired from the United States Postal Service. They both were from Maysville.

Mrs. Strode is survived by her daughter, Cheri Strode Claybrooke; son, Clarence Wilson Strode, Jr. and his wife, Ann all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Amy Claybrooke Vinson and her husband, Jim of Milton, Tenn., Emily Claybrooke Jenkins and her husband, David of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Megan Strode and Mary Beth Strode of Smyrna, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Luke and Cale Vinson, Harper and Hunter Jenkins and Miles Strode; nephew, Frank Farris and his wife, Anne of Louisville; and two nieces, Debbie Calvert of Lexington and Martha Watson and her husband, Gayle of Maysville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wilson Strode Sr.; parents, Hobert and Anna Colliver; sisters, Leota Farris and Nora Pearl Holland; and son-in-law, David Claybrooke.

Services will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jim Rawlings officiating.

Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, from 10-11:30 a.m.
